The man in seat sixty one recently tried out our refurbished Night Riviera Sleeper service from London to Penzance as well as the Pullman Dining on his way back. The Night Riviera Sleeper Train from London to Penzance and other destinations in Cornwall is a truly fantastic experience. The sleeper train is usually the last departure of the day from either station and is clearly marked in purple saying ‘sleeper service’. 2nd class seats can be used without a reservation, although it is recommend to get one to secure your seat since it is free of charge at any staffed UK train station. I loved it.

The Night Riviera has a well-stocked buffet car which stays open throughout the journey so I went along to stock up on provisions. Here in 2018, there are only two sleeper services still operating in the UK: The Caledonian Sleeper operated by ScotRail six nights a week, and the Night Riviera from Great Western Railways (GWR), running seven nights a week (no sleeper on Saturday) from London Paddington to Penzance.
