I am currently a Special Forces (Green Beret) Medic, and Dive Medical Technician. CMTs assigned to UKSF Medical Support Unit (MSU), or Medical Troop, as it sometimes referred to, are not classed as Special Forces and should not be confused with badged UKSF operators who have trained as patrol medics. The JSOMTC conducts the intensive medical portion of Special Forces Medical Sergeant training.

Soldiers who are retraining into Special Forces, who fail any of the above training courses, revert to their primary MOS (job). At some point I'll come home from Afghanistan, and would like to transition from the military (as in get out, I hate the haircuts) into med school. Despite rigorous and comprehensive medical training, when special forces medics leave the service, their training only qualifies them to work as emergency medical technicians.
