Volunteers have a vast impact on local and global communities. This is a completely remote position requiring secure access to the internet to complete the tasks. We welcome high school students to folks in their '90s. It is also sometimes called micro volunteering or crowdsourcing, when the tasks require just a few minutes of work. Volunteer will work remotely with Hartford Ave school kids who are below grade level, and help is urgently needed to help bring these students to grade level. Here are some starting points.

Volunteers would engage with middle school students through a variety of means, including phone, calls, google meets, etc. Coaches provide either math tutoring or college counseling, to help students improve their grades, academic motivation, and chances of going to college. UPchieve is a free, online platform that connects low-income high school students in the U.S. with live, volunteer coaches (that’s you!)

Volunteer Where the Need & Opportunity for Impact are the Greatest . With a remote high school internship, you can gain valuable real-world experience, with increased flexibility and freedom. Online volunteering or virtual volunteering means unpaid service that is given by a person via the Internet or other technology network, either via a computer or via a handheld device (smart phone, cell phone, PDA, etc.). As a volunteer, particularly for people under the age of 18, some of the tasks may not be glamorous, but know that you’re doing your part in your community and learning important skills for the future.

Strong communication and time-management skills, as well as knowledge of virtual collaborative platforms, are key to succeeding in a remote high school role.
