Simply do this quest as normal until you obtain the Jagged Crown. Forum > Skyrim board > Where Is The Jagged Crown After Giving It Up ... if you do not reverse-pickpocket it onto Ralof or Hadvar before handing it over to Ulfric or Tullius, its gone for good, unless you're on pc, then use the console command and get the crown back into your inventory ... more desirable.
