Another potentially dangerous day was in store for the magnolia state. The event finally subsided on April 29th, but not before producing significant flooding and tornadoes along the Gulf Coast, tornadoes in the Carolinas, and severe weather into the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes. The most tornadoes occurred across the Deep South as the system moved into Mississippi and Alabama on April 28th. April 28, 2014 The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma issues another rare High risk for portions of central and northeast Mississippi into northwest Alabama, only 3 years after the super outbreak of 2011. At least 50 tornadoes were confirmed on April 28th alone.… The April 28, 2014, tornado was the first large-scale disaster the county has dealt with in more than 25 years.
